Who are you?
You have VMBO working and thinking level preferably towards engineering. Don’t have experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, service technician, technician, or technical service employee? No problem; you will be trained internally at the organization! You do have technical understanding and can work independently. What else are we looking for?

• You are in possession of driver’s license B;
• You speak the Dutch language
• Living around Groningen, Veendam, Westerkwartier;
• You have an affinity for engineering;
• You are representative;
• You are stress resistant;
• You are flexible and open to working irregular hours and weekend shifts.

What will you do?

We are looking for a Sewer Mechanic. No experience? No big deal. Our client would like to teach you this. Training will be provided by the organization.

What does your day look like:

At 8 a.m. you will be at your first customer’s place with your fully equipped van, probably right around the corner from you. Planning colleagues have put a challenging schedule in your pda, leaving you free to create the most efficient route. You want this too, because the top piece of your salary is determined by the amount of work you do!

Internal training was fun, but tough. There you learned the basic skills of unblocking. Now it’s time to put your creativity and perseverance to the test. The work seems easy, but when things don’t go the way you think, it becomes a nice challenge. However, if things do go wrong there is always one of the twenty fellow service technicians nearby and you still solve it together….

In the end, you always go home feeling satisfied and fulfilled. You have helped many clients out of dire straits and also made a very fat living!

What will you do:

As, you will have a varied, technical position focused on independently repairing sewer blockages at both private and commercial customers on site (in people’s homes, housing associations, commercial properties, etc.). It is a physical, demanding profession, so good physical condition is very important. Work includes:

• Drainage and cleaning work;
• Inspection work;
• Doing maintenance;
• Perform minor repairs.
